Reuse, function, and neutrality were the highest priorities for this kitchen. The overall atmosphere was to be light and bright. This was achieved by keeping some of the cabinetry while redesigning other parts to match the existing style. Several surfaces and materials were added: hardwood floors, new appliances, a ventilation fan, and a Corian countertop. The kitchen when completed had more open space, more countertop to use, and a very sleek look. Two outside views visually expanded the space and added softness. The people and food was the centerpiece of this kitchen.
